Apprentice Lineman/Groundman

Apprentice Lineman/Groundsman

Apprentice Linemen/Groundsman works with line crews in the power/utility industry supporting linemen who install and maintain electrical distribution and transmission lines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up job sites and safety zones
• Hand tools and materials to lineman
• Dig holes, set poles and anchor guy wires
• Operate equipment augers, trenchers, bucket trucks
• Once trained direct traffic in work zones
• Maintain and organize tools and trucks

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of electricity and safety
• Ability to follow strict safety protocols
• Team communication - working closely with a crew
• Class C or Class A Driver's License; CDL preferred

Physical Demands

Heavy lifting 50-100lbs

Climbing

Bending

Working at heights

Working outdoors in all weather (Texas heat included)

Work Environment

Outdoor job sites such as utility right-of-way work, construction yards, or maintenance sites. Variable conditions (traffic control zones, slopes, wet/ice surfaces, uneven ground).
