Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for constructing industrial sweeping machines using work instructions and hand tools. This role involves using screw guns, sockets, wrenches, and other power tools to assemble hydraulic, electrical, and sub-assembly parts. The assembly process is divided into four stations, each progressively more challenging, involving the installation of brakes, tires, engines, lift arms, radiators, hoses, harnesses, sub-assemblies, electrical components, and the final assembly of sheet metal and hoppers.

Responsibilities

• Build industrial sweeping machines using work instructions and hand tools.

• Use screw guns, sockets, wrenches, and other power tools for assembly.

• Assemble hydraulic, electrical, and sub-assembly parts.

• Progress through four assembly stations, each taking approximately 4-5 hours.

• Install brakes, tires, engines, lift arms, radiators, hoses, and harnesses.

• Perform final assembly of sheet metal and hoppers.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in mechanical assembly and hydraulic assembly.

• Experience with heavy assembly.

• Familiarity with hand and power tools such as screw guns.

• Experience in mechanics or related fields.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of sockets, wrenches, nuts, and bolts.

• Mechanical aptitude.

• Experience from military mechanics, trade schools, or manufacturing companies.

Work Environment

Work in a clean manufacturing setting with a unique assembly process divided into stations rather than a traditional line setup. The environment is well-lit and safety-conscious. First shift hours are from 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime of 3-5 hours per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pingree Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
