An established manufacturing client in Lafayette is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join their team. This is a long-term, permanent opportunity in a clean, safe, and well-controlled work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Weld mild steel assemblies using MIG welding equipment
- Pass and maintain a 1G weld test
- Read and interpret blueprints and weld documentation
- Operate a lift truck to move materials and inventory
- Work independently and with a team to meet production schedules
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Follow all general and equipment-specific safety procedures
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Previous MIG welding experience required
- Ability to pass a 1G weld test
- Minimum 1 year of welding experience required
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Strong attendance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
- Clean, well-maintained facility
- Controlled welding process with ventilation to reduce smoke exposure
- Standard welding equipment provided
- Clear documentation provided for each part
