CNC Turret Punch Press Operator -22-26/hr (DOE)
University Park, IL
1st Shift (Monday-Thursday 10 hour days. Hours are 7am-5pm. Fridays are 7 am-11 am which is all overtime. Expect 40-45 hours a week.
This position is temp to hire.
Our Manufacturing customer in University Park is seeking a skilled CNC Turret Operator for a temp to hire opportunity. You will be responsible to sets up and operate computer-numerical-controlled turret punch presses to fabricate metal parts by punching, forming, or cutting.

• Machine Setup & Operation: Load, align, and secure sheet metal into the turret press. Install, change, and align tools in the turret according to job requirements.
• Program Management: Load, edit, and run CNC programs, including debugging and editing G-code to ensure optimal performance.
• Quality Control & Inspection: Read blueprints to verify specifications. Perform first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers.
• Material Handling: Safely move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or pallet jacks.

Qualifications

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of G-code, blueprint reading, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance.
• CNC Programming - 2 years required
• Manufacturing - 4 years - preferred
• Experience with Amanda with Fanuc Control
