Job Title: Machinist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to perform complex setups and operations on CNC and manual machining equipment. This role involves troubleshooting machining issues, collaborating with engineering teams, and mentoring others on best practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex setups and operations for CNC and manual machining equipment.

• Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and optimize processes for quality and efficiency.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on manufacturability, prototyping, and process development.

• Train and mentor technicians and engineers on machining best practices.

• Recommend and implement improvements to tooling, fixtures, and machining processes.

• Ensure safe machine shop operations and proper upkeep of equipment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in CNC and manual machining processes, including complex machine setups, tooling, and fixturing.

• 5+ years of troubleshooting machining issues, performing root cause analysis, and optimizing machining processes for quality and efficiency.

• Proficiency in using equipment such as mills, lathes, calipers, micrometers, and Haas machines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to train and mentor technicians and engineers on machining techniques, safety, and best practices.

Work Environment

This position is based in the Chicagoland area and requires on-site presence Monday through Friday. Additional on-site attendance may be required to support operational or safety needs. The work environment involves using various machining technologies and equipment, and maintaining a safe and organized machine shop.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Plaines, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $39.00/hr.
