Job Title: Maintenance Fabricator / Mechanic
Pay: $24–$32 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Type: Direct Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fabricator / Mechanic to support equipment reliability and production efficiency within a high-volume metal stamping environment. This role is responsible for advanced welding, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Welding

• Fabricate, repair, and modify machine components, guards, fixtures, platforms, and custom tooling

• Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings

• Safely operate welders, saws, grinders, and other fabrication equipment

Mechanical Maintenance

• Troubleshoot and repair stamping presses, conveyors, automation systems, and auxiliary equipment

• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life

• Inspect and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems

• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure proper tolerances

Production Support

• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to restore operations

• Partner with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance

• Assist with mechanical upgrades and process improvements

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout and proper PPE usage

• Ensure repairs and fabricated components meet safety and quality standards

• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

Required:

• 3–5 years of fabrication, welding, or industrial maintenance experience

• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication and welding techniques

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team

Preferred:

• Experience in metal stamping or heavy manufacturing

• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation

• CNC machining experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces

• Comfortable working in an industrial environment with noise, heat, weld fumes, and moving machinery

Pay Details: $24.00 to $32.00 per hour
