Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Every Other Saturday
Hours: 6p-6a (Night Shift)

Rockford Overview: The Owens Corning Rockford IL is a premier manufacturing facility that manufactures extruded polystyrene foam board insulation for primary use in the construction industry.
Non-union plant employing about 70 employees across 4 shifts; Maintenance team consists of 10 employees.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for routine planned and breakdown maintenance activities on shift. This person must be able to work independently. Must have a willingness to take initiative. Must be self-motivated and empowered to improve their skill sets. Have a high level of teamwork capability.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the process, process equipment, controls, and spare parts
Develop troubleshooting skills and techniques for the equipment and controls
Perform routine and nonroutine industrial maintenance tasks
Utilize our computer maintenance management system (SAP) to maintain and enter documentation from all work orders
Learn and comply with all Owens Corning safety policies along with all other plant rules
Maintain a clean, orderly work area that is in compliance with 5S standards
Maintain a high level of attendance
All other duties as assigned or needed
Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
Must possess strong communication and organizational skills
Must have the ability to multi-task and must have a critical eye for inspections
Must have strong internal and external customer service skills
Must work well in team environment
Must be able to work independently with limited supervision
Efficient in execution and prioritization of multiple tasks
Above average troubleshooting of mechanical equipment in an industrial environment
Understanding, experience, and troubleshooting capabilities with industrial electrical
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude in an industrial environment
Education and/or Experience:
Schooling and/or certifications in maintenance /electronics related field is required
Electromechanical Technology, Automated Systems, Mechatronics, or other Industrial Maintenance related fields
Minimum High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
Schooling and certifications in maintenance /electronics related field is preferred
Willingness-to-learn-more attitude through developed work habits, machine instruction booklets, self-taught skills courses, and outside educational programs
Industrial mechanical experience and knowledge (bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, chain drives, etc.)
Essential Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
Work up to 12 hours in hot/cold manufacturing environment
Walk/stand on concrete floor continuously for up to 12 hours
Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - steel-toed shoes, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) hearing protection and long-sleeved shirt (with shirt tail tucked in) as necessary for task
