Job Title: Painter Job Description

Prepare stainless steel handrails for coating, including cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed. Operate powder coating equipment to apply coatings evenly and efficiently. Ensure proper curing of coated parts using ovens and temperature controls. Inspect finished products for quality, thickness, and uniformity of coating. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols. Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment. Document production and quality control data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare stainless steel handrails for coating, ensuring surfaces are clean and properly sanded and masked.

• Operate powder coating equipment to apply coatings efficiently and evenly.

• Ensure proper curing of coated parts using ovens and temperature controls.

• Inspect finished products to ensure quality, thickness, and uniformity of coating.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.

• Perform routine maintenance on coating equipment.

• Document production and quality control data accurately.

Essential Skills

• Color Matching & Finish Expertise: Ability to achieve consistent color and texture across multiple parts.

• Knowledge of Painting: Understanding of powder types, curing temperatures, and paint stages.

• Quality Control Techniques: Familiarity with thickness gauges, gloss meters, and visual inspection standards.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot coating defects such as orange peel, pinholes, or uneven coverage.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
