Part-Time: up to 19 hours/week
The Medical Director (Adult & Pediatric Physician) will oversee clinical medical services in the City Health Clinics. This includes providing direct patient care, supervising public health vaccine programs, managing communicable disease reporting, issuing standing orders, and supporting the Health Officer and nursing staff. The physician will ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal public health programs, maintain licensure, and carry malpractice insurance.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct medical evaluations and examinations for clinic patients (adult & pediatric).
- Review medical and communicable disease reports; advise staff accordingly.
- Serve as medical consultant to the Health Officer and nursing staff on public health / medical matters.
- Administer ACIP-recommended vaccines to clinic clients and City employees.
- Perform pediatric / adult lead testing (both capillary and venous).
- Issue standing orders for immunizations / medications when the Physician is absent or delayed.
- Provide immunizations (Hepatitis B, Influenza, Pneumococcal, COVID-19).
- Provide referrals to other physicians or specialists when necessary.
- Write / issue prescriptions as needed.
- Attend meetings and events as directed by the Health Officer.
- Be available to the Health Officer and nursing staff as needed.
- Maintain a valid New Jersey medical license in good standing.
- Ensure compliance with NJVFC, Section 317, and CDC COVID-19 Program Agreements.
- Submit proof of malpractice insurance annually and upon renewal.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, specialty in Pediatrics required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a local health department clinic.
- Experience in:
• Child Health Conference (CHC) programs
• Vaccine for Children (VFC) & 317-funded adult clinical services
• Consulting on public health / medical issues with Health Officers
• Administering Hepatitis B immunizations and evaluating antibody responses
• Issuing standing orders to public health nursing staff
• Delivering mass immunization clinics - Influenza, Pneumococcal, COVID-19
• Pediatric lead screenings (capillary & venous)
• Communicable disease reporting, NJIIS usage, epidemiology & disease control
