General Laborer

We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a one-hour lunch break or two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute break. There is flexibility to adjust start times earlier or later within reason.

Responsibilities

1. Remove rust from large shipping containers using a hand-held grinder.
2. Strip and remove decals from the exterior of containers.
3. Utilize a small hand-held saw to clear debris as necessary.
4. Wash out containers with a pressure washer.
5. Remove flooring and floorboards from inside containers using a small hand saw.
6. Prepare containers for painting and perform spot painting with a brush as needed.
7. Utilize a hammer or sledgehammer to smooth out dents.
8. Pressure wash at 2300 PSI.

Essential Skills

• Experience in general labor, cleaning, and yard work.
• Proficiency with hand tools, including hand saws and grinders.
• Ability to operate power tools and perform minor assembly and carpentry tasks.
• Familiarity with pressure washing and painting techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with small hand tools.
• Capability in decal removal and minor painting tasks.
• Willingness to learn and be trained.
• Team-oriented mentality.

Work Environment

Work primarily takes place outdoors or within containers, with some exposure to the elements. A canopy or cover is provided, along with an air-conditioned area for cooling down and hydration. Steel-toe boots are required, and safety equipment will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
