Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery unit is responsible for providing care to maternal patients during labor and delivery, including postpartum care. The role requires flexibility and the ability to handle low risk births, maternal care, and occasional specialized situations.

Responsibilities:

• Care for 1:3 mother-baby couplets and 1:1 labors as needed.
• Administer common drips such as insulin, magnesium, and pitocin.
• Use Alaris pumps for IV administration.
• Participate in team efforts led by the charge nurse, who also takes patient assignments.

Requirements:

• Current BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Ability to perform labor, delivery, and postpartum care, with NICU experience desired.
• Adhere to the facility's fingernail policy (artificial nails prohibited).
• Pass an open book skills exam during orientation with a 90% score or higher.
