Industrial Maintenance Electrician
This role focuses on performing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on industrial and mining equipment across the entire facility, from administrative buildings to plant operations. You will install, adjust, and maintain electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment while ensuring all work meets manufacturers' standards and regulatory requirements. The position combines preventive maintenance, project work, and responsive repairs in a fast-paced heavy industrial environment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical work, repairs, and adjustments on industrial and mining equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical equipment, gauges, instruments, and associated control systems.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate electrical issues, identify root causes, and coordinate repairs and modifications to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance follow manufacturers' specifications and internal standards.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities on electrical and automation systems, representing approximately 50% of daily workload.
- Support and execute electrical and automation projects, accounting for approximately 25% of daily activities.
- Respond to corrective maintenance needs and unplanned issues on equipment, accounting for approximately 25% of daily tasks.
- Participate in daily department meetings, including safety discussions and task planning for the day.
- Collaborate closely with other electricians, often pairing with colleagues who have prior experience on specific tasks to support knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Maintain good housekeeping in all work areas to support safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
- Adhere at all times to applicable safety rules and regulations, including OSHA and MSHA requirements, and consistently meet or exceed company safety standards.
- Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment while on plant grounds and during all work activities.
- Develop, read, and interpret mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints, and drawings to plan and execute work.
- Use computer-based tools and systems to document work, access technical information, and support maintenance planning and reporting.
Essential Skills
- 35 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
- Experience in aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial operations preferred (minimum of 3 years preferred).
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation and automation systems in an industrial environment.
- Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and digital drive systems.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with motor control circuits and relay logic.
- Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Computer literacy with the ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email systems; ability to learn company-specific networked programs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, including reading technical information in manuals, reports, and related instructions.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to develop, read, and use mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints, and drawings.
- Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with pneumatics in an industrial setting.
- Experience with vibration analysis and flow analysis for equipment monitoring and diagnostics.
- Experience in industrial repair and preventive maintenance programs.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Comfort working with instrumentation, automation systems, and complex electrical controls.

Work Environment
This position is based in a heavy industrial facility with continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, high noise levels, and outdoor working conditions. The work areas can be dirty and dusty, and you will frequently work around large industrial and mining equipment. You must wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times while on site, in accordance with safety policies and regulations. The electrical and automation team will ultimately consist of approximately 10 electricians and 4 supervisors, creating a supportive group environment with strong camaraderie and a culture of helping each other when needed. Uniforms are provided, along with locker room facilities, and most employees change into their uniforms at work; a laundry service cleans the uniforms regularly. The role involves working with industrial electrical systems, power distribution up to 4,160 volts, PLCs, digital drives, motor controls, instrumentation, automation systems, and computer-based tools in a physically demanding and safety-focused setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $88025.60 - $88025.60/yr. Company will provide benefits as part of interview process.
